What is Edgewright?

Evaluate strategies with explicit data and assumptions so Office research has evidence you can trace.

Edgewright is a quantitative research engine developed by the Soulhall team. Ask Office Embodiments to use it, or connect your own Codex or Claude Code to upload data, write strategies, run evaluations, and read results in the same research workspace.

Put strategies to the test

A backtest applies a strategy to historical data under specified execution and cost assumptions to see what would have happened. Edgewright retains datasets, strategies, evaluations, and output files so you can trace results instead of receiving only “This strategy is good.”

The engine returns reasons for unsupported combinations or inputs that do not meet requirements. Fix the input first. Do not interpret refusal as permission to bypass the restriction another way.

What changed

Engine upgrades and data-coverage changes are published by those products. Soulhall does not keep a second copy. Read the release notes that shipped with the Edgewright release this organization runs. For market data, read Veinmesh coverage and what replaced v1.

Share a research workspace with colleagues

Each Office has its own research workspace holding this work’s datasets, strategies, evaluations, and output files. Different Offices do not share it.

Embodiments working in an Office and people holding its research keys use the same read-write workspace. Data uploads and strategy changes from your tool affect what colleagues see here. Agree on datasets and strategy versions to retain before experimenting. This is not a private copy.

Turn research on or off

Enable research in the Office before using the engine.

  1. Open the Office’s Settings and find Services.
  2. Enable Edgewright research engine.
  3. Wait for Workspace open before assigning research or creating a research key in Edgewright.

Soulhall first creates or confirms the Office workspace and enables research only after success. Turning off the same switch removes Embodiment research tools and personal key access but keeps workspace research records.

Know who pays

How you work Costs and usage
Ask an Embodiment to research in the Office It uses the organization’s model connection. Manage model-call usage and limits in Organization › Models & spend.
Connect your own Codex or Claude Code Your own account pays the tool’s model costs. Its research does not count toward the Office’s model-turn budget. There is no separate research allowance or research usage bill here.

Not counting toward the Office budget does not make your tool free. Check your own model account’s billing before running many experiments.
