What is Soulhall

Keep the way your most experienced people judge problems, and let it work in several projects at once alongside your team.

Every team has a few people everyone turns to when a problem gets hard: "how would they look at this?" That judgement took years to build, and it lives only in them. They can sit in one meeting at a time, and when they leave, their judgement leaves too.

Soulhall turns that way of judging into a Subject you can keep, then summons the Subject into the Office of each project to do real work: read material, discuss, write reports, keep tasks moving and work in websites. You assign and review; the results stay in the Office.

What it does for you

  • Put an expert's judgement on several projects at once. One Subject can be summoned into several Offices, each working and talking separately.
  • Hand work off and get back something you can review. Reports, dashboards, a task board and shared files live in the Office, and any result can be taken back into the conversation with a follow-up question.
  • See progress at a glance. The Workbench page shows what needs you, the newest results, and who is doing what in every Office.
  • Keep where every view came from. Knowledge records what it was learned from and whose it is. When several Subjects disagree, you see disagreement with its reasons, not a flattened consensus.
  • Connect the tools your team already uses. An Office browser, a credential vault for logins, integrations with outside services, and Telegram groups.

An example

When a senior purchasing lead evaluates suppliers, price is only part of it: delivery history, backup capacity and contract terms all count.

  1. You capture that lead's way of judging as a Subject: how they think, what they know and the principles they decide by.
  2. You open an Office called "Q3 supplier review", summon the Subject into it as the supplier reviewer, and upload three quotes to its shared files.
  3. In the conversation, you ask it to compare the three suppliers' delivery risk. It reads the files and publishes a report that gives the reasoning behind each judgement.
  4. One delivery date in the report looks doubtful, so you go back to the conversation and ask about that part.

The same Subject can work in a "New vendor onboarding" Office at the same time. The two conversations never mix; whatever it learns on either side that would hold anywhere goes back to the Subject, ready for the next project.

How it works

There are three words to know first:

Word What it is
Subject A person's way of judging: expertise, experience and principles. It belongs to no project and can be summoned again and again.
Office The space for one project or one ongoing piece of work, with its own goal, conversation and results.
Embodiment A Subject inside one Office, in one role, taking part in the work there.

Create a Subject → summon it into an Office as an Embodiment → the Embodiment gains experience as it works → what holds generally flows back to the Subject. The full picture is in Core concepts.

Where it fits

Soulhall pays off where judgement is scarcer than answers:

  • Experienced people can reasonably reach different conclusions — supplier evaluation, investment research, proposal review.
  • Being wrong is expensive, and the reasoning matters as much as the conclusion.
  • You want one way of judging to support several projects at once.

If a question has one correct answer you can look up, or is a fixed calculation, search or an ordinary tool is simpler and cheaper.

The product family

  • Soulhall: most of this handbook — Subjects, Offices and Embodiments, and the results they produce.
  • Edgewright: the company's own quantitative research engine. Once Research is on in an Office, its Embodiments can use it to evaluate strategies, and you can connect your own Codex or Claude Code to the same research workspace. See What is Edgewright.
  • Veinmesh data: paid market data. The organization enters a key Veinmesh issued under Organization › Services & integrations, and an Office turns it on. A key for your own tool is Services › Veinmesh in the navigation. What the data contains is in Veinmesh's own documentation. See Veinmesh data.
