A tour of the interface

What the navigation, the Workbench page and the Office page hold, and where to start each day.

Two things fill most days in Soulhall: watching the work and stepping in when needed, and collecting the results. The interface is built around both.

On a computer, the navigation on the left always has:

Item What it is for
Workbench Home: what needs you, the newest results, and how every Office is doing.
Subjects Create and manage Subjects; Embodiments are reached from here too.
Knowledge See what Subjects and Embodiments have learned and where it came from, and revoke what is wrong.
Services Keys for your own tools: Edgewright, and Veinmesh when this deployment offers it.

Below them, My Offices lists the Offices you can see, live, with how many Embodiments are working or in error.

Use Quick navigation, or Cmd/Ctrl+K, to find an Office or page. Arrow keys select a destination, Enter opens it, and Escape closes the search. The rail can collapse to icons.

On a phone, the tabs at the bottom are Workbench, Offices, Subjects, Services and Me. Your account and Organization (Members & roles, Models & spend, Connections & credentials, Services & integrations) are inside Me, not on the rail.

Workbench

The first page after you sign in. When nothing is wrong it stays quiet: with nothing to handle, there is no empty "needs you" section.

  • Needs you: Offices paused by a usage limit (saying whether it is the office's or the organization's limit), and Offices with blocked tasks. From here you can See the tasks or Adjust the limit.
  • Latest results: the reports and dashboards your Offices handed in most recently. Choose one to read it.
  • Offices: a searchable directory, busiest first, with each Office's goal, members, latest message and task counts. Filter by Working or Needs attention, or search by Office, member or goal.
  • Notices: only when something is wrong — for example the live connection dropped (what you see may be out of date), or spend is not being recorded.

The Office page

The top bar keeps the Office's name, member heads and current state visible. A member's head opens their details; the plus control summons a member. Settings stay in this bar. A goal appears on its own line when one is set.

On a computer, the conversation sits on the left. The icons at the right open one work panel beside it; selecting the same icon closes the panel. Drag the divider to resize, or focus it and use the arrow keys. Expand gives the panel the conversation's space. New results mark the Results icon without opening it.

On a phone, use the top-bar switch to move between the conversation and the work panel, then the panel's selector to choose its contents.

Working surfaces:

Tab What is there
Conversation Where you and the Embodiments discuss and assign work. Results arrive here as cards.
Results Every report and dashboard in this Office.
Tasks The task board the Embodiments keep: in progress, blocked, to do, done.
Files The Office's shared files, which people and Embodiments both upload and use.
Browser The web browser Embodiments drive, which you can watch or take over. Shown only when the browser service is on.

Switching panels keeps anything you have typed but not sent. Enter sends a message; Shift+Enter inserts a line break.

What you cannot see

Offices, Subjects or settings you have no access to are not shown greyed out — they are simply not there. If you expected to see an Office, ask its creator to tick you under Visibility in the Office's settings, or ask an admin.
