Offices

Create an Office for a piece of work, choose who can see it, enable services, set a standing goal, and delete an Office you no longer need.

Use a separate Office for each project, customer, or weekly routine. Its Embodiments, conversations, files, and results stay together here.

Create an Office

Start new work by creating a space for it, such as “Q3 supplier review.”

  1. On the Offices page, select New Office.
  2. Enter:
    • Name: for example, “Q3 supplier review.”
    • Code: for example, q3-suppliers. It appears in the URL. Use only lowercase English letters, numbers, and hyphens, starting with a letter or number. You cannot change it after creation.
    • Purpose: one or two English words, such as research, that determine the Office icon.
  3. Select Create.

The new Office opens. By default, only you can see it (Admins and Owners can always see it), and its browser and research engine are off. Your next step is usually to summon an Embodiment.

Let colleagues see the Office

Add colleagues to its visibility list so they can participate or review results.

  1. On the Office page, select Settings, then find Visibility under General.
  2. Keep Restrict this office checked and select colleagues under Visible to. To make it visible to the whole organization, uncheck the restriction.
  3. Select this form’s Save button.

Selected people see it in their Office list. What they can do inside still depends on their organization role. People without access cannot see the Office or open it by URL.

Enable the services this work needs

By default, an Office supports conversations, results, and shared files. For more capabilities, enable services individually in Settings › Services:

Service When enabled
Office browser Embodiments can operate a web browser. You can watch or take control in the Browser tab.
Seat browsers, one per member Each Embodiment has its own browser and sign-in state, allowing different accounts on the same website at once. Requires the Office browser.
Edgewright research engine Soulhall prepares a research workspace for this Office that Embodiments can use for quantitative research.
Integrations Select which external services already connected to the organization this Office can use.

See Browsers, credentials & integrations and What is Edgewright? for details.

Change the name and purpose

Change Name and Purpose in Settings › General, then select Save. The code cannot change after creation.

Set a standing goal

A standing goal keeps ongoing work moving without repeated prompts, such as “Publish this week’s market summary every Friday.” After the conversation stays quiet for a while, Soulhall sends the goal to an Embodiment again.

  1. Select Set goal at the top of the Office, or go to Settings › Standing goal.
  2. Enter the Goal: what to deliver and what counts as complete.
  3. Under Owner (a member of this office), choose an Embodiment or nobody in particular. Automatic reminders wake the owner. If none is assigned or it has left, they wake the earliest-joined Embodiment instead.
  4. Set Quiet (min): how long the conversation must be silent before the next reminder. Range: 5–1,440 minutes; default: 30.
  5. Set Auto-turns/day: the maximum daily reminders. Range: 1–96; default: 8, counted by UTC date.
  6. Select Set goal.

The goal and progress (completed tasks / all tasks) appear at the top of the Office. Embodiments can pause or resume the goal. When complete, they report it achieved with an Office report or shared file as evidence.

Change, end, or reopen a goal

Go to Settings › Standing goal, or select Edit / history on the goal at the top of the Office:

  • Change: adjust the goal, owner, or reminder settings, then select Save changes.
  • End: enter Why (required), then select Clear goal. This ends the goal; it does not clear the conversation.
  • View records: expand History to see the latest 8 goals, completion summaries and evidence, or reasons for ending them.
  • Reopen: when the latest goal is achieved and no goal is active, select Reopen to continue it.

Office settings at a glance

Select Settings on the Office page, then choose a section:

Section What it is for
General Name, purpose, and visibility.
Standing goal Set and manage goals; appears only when the feature is enabled.
Services Browsers, research engine, and integrations.
Unresolved room turns Handle a turn whose outcome cannot be confirmed; appears only when a turn needs attention. See Assign work in a conversation.
Telegram Connect a Telegram group. See Telegram.
Danger zone Clear the conversation or permanently delete the Office.

Models and usage limits apply across the organization, not in Office settings. See Models & spend.

Permanently delete an Office

Delete only when you no longer need any of this work. To restart the discussion instead, clear the conversation.

  1. Go to Settings › Danger zone and find Delete this Office.
  2. Review the counts of Embodiments, messages, files, reports, conversation records, and knowledge to be removed. Download results you need to keep first.
  3. Enter the Office code requested on screen, then select Delete permanently.

You return to the Office list. If the Office was deleted but some content could not be cleaned up, the page lists it.
